Atheism
If a God exists,
perhaps
He loves those
who don’t ask Him to
A love
with no expectations,
and truly
no strings attached.
Believers demand answers,
call it devotion
when it is demand.
They ask
to justify loss
with meaning,
hand Him questions
already sharpened,
then call it faith
when He bleeds.
Perhaps disbelief
is a kind of mercy-
to let Him be unblamed
by our need
to make sense of pain.
Perhaps He rests more easily
where His name is not used
to explain the inevitable
or excuse our own deeds.
If a God exists,
perhaps
He loves those
who don’t ask Him to
Because they never ask Him
to answer.
